Welcome to Troop 604.
Troop 604 is a Scout-led Unit. It is our goal to allow the Scouts to make decisions on what they want to do and how to do them. While this seems crazy at times, it is the Scouting way and best way for Scouts to learn to be good leaders. It is a way that allows a Scout to fail, and learn from their mistakes, in a safe environment. The adults within the Troop coach and support the Scouts on making the right choices while building their self-confidence, and ultimately, their character.
Our Troop is charted by the Lake Forest II Master Homeowners Association. Troop 604 was established in 1960 and continues to have active Scouts. We are an experienced unit as our Scouts range in rank from Scout to Eagle. Our adults come with many years of Scouting experience and training as well.
While we have fun with many different outdoor activities, we also focus on our community. We involve ourselves in the Orange County Council Scouting for food program, Scout-O-Rama, and assist the Isaiah House in Santa Ana with their needs. We contribute each holiday season to the Toys for Tots program which brings joy to many children during the holiday. We support our veterans on holidays (Memorial Day and Veterans’ Day) and our community (Lake Forest 4th of July parade).
Troop 604 is committed to move forward with a great program where the Scouts learn life skills while having fun. Our focus is on upholding the traditions of the Boy Scouts of America to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes. Our troop instills the values of the Scout Oath and Law. The vision of the Boy Scouts of America will prepare every eligible youth in America to become responsible, participating citizens and leaders who are guided by the Scout Oath and Law.
